CRAZY OLD MAN, this is the way the author refers to the man that suffers from Alzheimer. Like in any mental disease the people that are affected with it are mostly called crazy by all the society. The alzheimer is a mental disease thats why the referred as a crazy man. She also describe him as an old man and its because this disease affects mostly old persons (65 - 85 years old)
. On this poem also explains the disease, the person affected with Alzheimer has tremors, can remember things from the past, they lose the ability of doing activities of daily living and can also forget of the family and lose all the short term memory. They are not crazy they just have problems with their genes. This poem Alzheimer was taken from the chapter number 27 specialized in open forms. The poem was made by Kelly Cherry.

I agree with you, they are not crazy, they are just sick. People should treat better the persons that have this disease, we have to comprehend them and help them get through this terrible disease.

Alzheimer is a very difficult disease, not just for the person that is suffering it, but also for their family. Is very sad to look and talk to a person, that just months ago was completely clear, and suddenly is forgeting his family member's name, were he live, or in a more advance case his own name. Definitely they should not be called crazy people, they are just sick with a disease without cure.
